Chris DeGuelle is the newest member of the NIMSAT Team. He provides strategic and real-world experience in disaster management to the NIMSAT Institute’s R&D team by identifying the operational research and technology needs in homeland security, cyber security, and emergency management efforts. DeGuelle coordinates operations of the Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center (LABEOC) by serving as the liaison between public and private stakeholders. Additionally, he works with the community on educational and outreach efforts.

DeGuelle is a 23 year military Veteran who retired in the grade of Colonel. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, the Air War College, and the US Army Airborne Parachutist School. DeGuelle holds a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master of Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Master of Strategic Studies/National Security from the Air War College. During his career, he gained extensive practice in developing policy and guidance for diverse multi-national/multi-agency teams supporting high-visibility national security operations, the protection of logistics supply chains, training foreign police and military forces, and developing continuity of operations programs.
