This two-day course is free and is hosted by the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness in partnership with the NIMSAT Institute at UL Lafayette.

It is designed to provide local emergency management training classes.
The sessions will take place at Abdalla Hall and are open to anyone interested in attending.
The schedule for the course is as follows:

Day One: 12 PM to 4 PM
Day Two: 8 AM to 12 PM

Topics covered in the course include:

  • Introduction to AI for Emergency Management
  • Background and Understanding of Common AI Models
  • AI for Situational Awareness and Communications
  • Ethical Considerations and Challenges of AI in Emergency Management
  • The Future of AI in Emergency Management and its Integration into Existing Systems
